This course features the classroom practice of Mr Gautam Kumar Chettri, a secondary school Mathematics teacher from Nagaland and the Mathematics President of his district’s PLC. Through his experience teaching Class 10 students, Gautam demonstrates how thoughtful lesson planning helped him improve student engagement, manage classroom time effectively, and achieve better learning outcomes.
The course focuses on the importance of lesson planning and the use of inductive and deductive reasoning strategies to enhance learning. Using examples from Gautam’s own lesson plans and classroom activities, participants learn how well-structured lessons can make learning more interactive, meaningful, and effective. Aligned with NPST Standard 2: Knowledge and Practice, the course is curated by Jayshree Iyer, Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Mathematics through NECTAR and offers practical strategies that teachers can apply in their own classrooms.
