This course is designed to deepen teachers' understanding of Mathematics education in the light of the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) 2023. It moves beyond conventional approaches to help teachers reimagine Mathematics as a subject of exploration, creativity, and wonder — not merely calculation and procedure.
Rooted in the aims of the NCF 2023, the course supports teachers in building students' foundational numeracy, mathematical thinking, and problem-solving capacities — while nurturing joy, curiosity, and confidence in every learner.
Participants will explore stage-wise learning standards across the Foundational, Preparatory, Middle, and Secondary Stages, and gain practical insights into content selection and pedagogy aligned with NCF principles.
By the end of the course, teachers will be equipped to:
• Design learner-centred, exploratory Mathematics lessons
• Incorporate open-ended problems and multi-strategy tasks
• Connect Mathematics to real-life, contextual experiences
• Foster mathematical thinking, reasoning, and a love for the subject
The course blends readings from NCF 2023, reflective tasks, and assessments to support meaningful, competency-based professional growth.
